I've experienced this twice!

Our  first experience was giving birth to our son, in January 2007. He was born at the hospital. I had a very fast, easy labour. Especially for a first baby. In June 2008 our daughter was born at home, even that time childbirth was completely pain-free! The delivery was so quick and easy, she was born in two hours’ time.

A few years ago I saw I a video clip about a woman giving birth, laughing and beaming with happiness… without experiencing pain! I decided “this is how I want to give birth”. And when we were expecting our first child, I started to study this way of giving birth.

I reconstructed and adopted the delivery technique. I did this by myself (because here in the Netherlands no one is familiar with it) and my husband supported me. I prepared myself for example by listening to a text, focusing on a good birth.

I taught myself to aim for a good labour, so giving birth would be a pleasant experience. This was a kind of psychological training.
The most important thing for me was to know what that was: a good childbirth.

During labour, I saw to it that there was enough saliva in my mouth all the time. This made me feel relaxed and helped me focus. My heart beat slowed down and I felt good!
After both deliveries I needed stitches, and even then I felt no pain.

This amazing experience really makes me want to help other women!

People close to me advised me to "spread the word".
My aim is to help pregnant women get the most positive childbirth experience as they can! I would like to help women to have confidence in their pregnancy, throughout the birthing process, and after. At the same time, I want to help children by preventing their first experience of pain!

Childbirth without pain nor drugs, it sounds easy enough, yet it requires a lot of time and effort and it is not something you can do just like that. It requires attention and awareness of your own thoughts. Issues like trust, your physical condition, communication with your baby, are all extremely important for a smooth, painless childbirth.
